Sales Applications Specialist

An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated professional to be come a key member of the Sales organization of a + $100M business unit of Thermo Electron. The Weighing and Inspection business is the leading manufacturer or equipment that analyzes, detects, measures and controls manufacturing processes for the bulk, food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries - with manufacturing, sales, and service offices located worldwide.

The Sales Applications Specialist will be located in the Northwest Suburbs of Minneapolis and will provide overall inside sales support for all Thermo Electron product lines for the Midwest direct sales and representatives.

Responsibilities include the following:

? Provide technical sales support for all Thermo Electron product lines.
? Provide inside sales support to Regional Sales Managers, Account Managers, Independent sales representatives, and customers quoting standard/special products.
? Analyze potential applications by product testing.
? Generate application test reports for customers, direct sales and representatives.
? Maintain a comprehensive test report database for direct sales personnel reference.
? Generate quotations and correspondence relating to applicable products.
? Accept orders with necessary customer and application information for processing.
? Support representative organizations, customers, and internal personnel in all sales related interests.

This job will involve 5-10% travel.

The successful candidate will possess:
? A two year technical degree or three years experience with related product required.
? Ability to calculate basic math functions.
? Intermediate PC operation skills, word processing, spreadsheets, and email functions.
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
? Mechanical and Electrical aptitude relative to equipment application/testing procedures
? Strong interpersonal skills and the proven ability to work with a diverse group of people.
? Ability to develop high levels of credibility and forge professional relationships with peers, management, external customers and distributors.
? Self motivated; high bias for action.
? Effective verbal and written communication skills.
