- Presents product promotions to customers in order to increase sales and customer awareness of products and service capabilities as defined by the Grainger Service Promise.
- Consistently demonstrates superior customer satisfaction by combining sales, product and other skills training to meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Meets quantitative expectations set forth by the Branch Manager in Performance Excellence.
- Understands and utilizes current sales policies especially with respect to pricing
- Actively probes to uncover unique and complex customer requirements and develops cost effective solutions to build customer relationships, loyalty and retention.
- Drives sales growth through diligent communication of sales promotions and marketing initiatives.
- Understands and utilizes current sales policies especially with respect to pricing.
- Effectively incorporates merchandising strategy to grow sales.
- Actively participates in Company's quality initiative and supports continuous improvement by utilizing Voice of the Customer tools, such as the Voice Form and Opportunities for Improvement (OFI's).

- Uses the computer system to provide information on pricing, availability, and alternate product selection to complete customer transactions.
- Maintains inventory accuracy through effective use of computerized scanning equipment and other inventory maintenance reports.
- Regularly uses latest systems and computer technologies to maximize sales growth and service capabilities.
- Demonstrates expertise in product categories and able to read specifications and recommend items into catalogs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.


- High School diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred.
- Demonstrates functional competence and product knowledge in multiple product groups to satisfy customer application needs.
- Understands and can leverage the Grainger Value Package in selling situations to influence customer buying decisions.
- Must feel comfortable working in a dynamic, team-based environment where priorities are continually changing.
- Able to follow verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision within specified time frames.
- Able to operate computerized scanning equipment, and PC based programs.
- Able to identify problems and offer alternative solutions and/or courses of action based on available resources.
- Able to perform related warehouse functions requiring lifting, operating forklift, and material handling equipment as needed.
