Sales & Marketing Manager, Protective Systems

Position Description:

Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics Protective Systems products provide the best in chemical/biological protection. Our patented composite materials are recognized for their NFPA Certification and are utilized throughout the United States in Military and commercial applications such as Chem/Bio shelters and tent liners, protective suits, hoods and gloves.

We are actively seeking a SALES & MARKETING MANAGER, PROTECTIVE SYSTEMS, who will be responsible for global marketing and sales. The position involves managing profitable sales growth and championing product development. This position interfaces with functional units within the Fabricated Systems group, R&D, Government Contracts and Legal groups, and other internal business groups.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Profitable growth of Protective Systems.
? Maintain a solid understanding of key Industrial, Commercial and Military/Government market segments and market trends globally to support existing products and near & long term product developments.
? Understand market and customer requirements/potential, key influencers, the value chain, product certification requirements and testing. Manage channels to market, pricing, margins. Define and communicate market / product discriminators, understand the value of and reasons for buying existing and future products/services while identifying / developing requirements for the same.
? Understand and utilize technical capabilities/resources and apply that knowledge to expand and develop the market for Protective Systems worldwide.
? Maintain current market segment knowledge through close relationships with customers / primary decision makers / key market influences within the Protective Systems community in order to identify current and future product/market requirements and competitive intelligence.
? Develop / refine / maintain and implement strategic / sales / market / product plans.
? Manage product promotion, pricing, margins, account receivables, advertising, distributors and sales agents.
? Champion new product development / input to new product development process and creation of new product concepts.
? Meet sales revenue and margin budgets.
? Provide clear direction to dotted line resources consistent with business priorities.

EDUCATION, SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
? 4-year (Bachelor?s) degree; preferably in Chemical Engineering, MBA desired.
? 2 to 5 years product development experience.
? Successful sales and market development experience desirable.
? Experience selling to Government / Military, commercial HAZMAT/Fire Fighting and Industrial markets desirable.
? Strong Engineering / technical aptitude; solid composite materials and polymer knowledge desirable.
? Demonstrated aptitude for selling high value technical products.
? Self motivated; ability to work independently.
? Ability to drive programs from start to finish.
? Hands on; ability to motivate others at all levels within the organization.
? Ability to work as part of a team.
? Distributor sales channel experience desirable.
? Strong planning, business management and organizational skills.
? Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver on key priorities.
? Strong communication and presentation skills.
? Knowledge of fluoropolymer, composite materials desirable.
? Ability to travel (overnight) up to 50% of time.
