Job Summary:
Supports the acquisition and retention of customers across multiple customer segments, brands and markets by applying keen understanding of our market strategies, products and services, market conditions, competitive set, distribution channels and audience preferences to develop positioning language and structure marketing message architectures. Produces compelling, audience-focused finished content that effectively differentiates and promotes our diverse range of products and services. Must efficiently gather and evaluate relevant information from a large number of subject matter experts across our organization.

Responsibilities:
1. Demonstrate exceptional abstract conceptual thinking abilities and be able to work within a team environment. Strong planning and problem-solving abilities are a must.
2. Use effective methods and well-developed interpersonal skills to gather information from experts across our organization.
3. Synthesize a diverse range of information to create clearly-defined positioning language and effective message architectures.
4. Write consistently compelling, persuasive copy that speaks directly to audience needs and preferences
5. Manage multiple assignments of strategic importance, working in a fast-paced environment, with superior attention to detail, under tight deadlines.
6. Deliverables include messaging strategies, marketing communications plans, content for marketing communications, collaterals, sales presentations, media advertising and/or proposals.
7. Work as key member of a creative team to direct execution of concepts through final product.
8. Provide editorial/creative direction, review and approve copy developed by other team members.
9. Edit, revise, version and proofread copy, mechanicals and proofs for consistency, accuracy and effectiveness. Make revisions as needed based on direction from senior marketing management team.
10. Adhere to departmental, corporate, legal and regulatory standards.
11. Work collaboratively with members of other departments, including Sales, Product Development, Research, Medical Management, Operations, eBusiness, Legal and Corporate Communications.
12. Provide editorial consulting services to other departments to ensure effectiveness, accuracy and positioning of messages across channels.
13. Assume additional responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:
1. Degree in Communications, Journalism, English or Liberal Arts field with strong persuasive writing emphasis. Advanced degree preferred.
2. A minimum of 10 years experience at advertising or corporate in-house agency, including professional writing experience, or in corporate communications.
3. Demonstrated experience in writing for Brand Image, Direct Response Marketing, external newsletters and /or web sites.
4. Understanding of typography, visual design, working knowledge of professional publishing and presentation software, including Adobe InDesign, MS Word, MS PowerPoint.
5. Excellent proofreading and editing skills.
6. Refined interpersonal skills to develop and maintain productive relationships with peers and company leadership.
7. Experience in marketing intangible services and/or health care highly desirable.
8. Must provide portfolio of writing samples prior to interview.
