Position Summary:
Primarily an industrial problem-solver and a developer of innovative test methodologies to solve industrial problems in both R&D and manufacturing. Must have expertise in both HPLC and GC, with GCMS and HPLC-MS experiences a plus. Hands-on experience with surfactant chemistry, consumer products, and/or developing validated pharmaceutical or EPA test methodologies is a definite advantage. Represents the department on technical issues. Provides a broad spectrum of expertise. Identifies and assesses technical business opportunities and/or problems and provides recommendations to management for solutions to these problems. Develop, recommend, and execute solid R&D approaches to support key product initiatives and business strategy, and develop products or technologies, which meet product performance, quality, and timing requirements. Manages time well to achieve goals by deadlines and works independently. Develops technical models to explain and predict results and demonstrate solid data interpretation skills, and conduct his/her own laboratory experiments.
Responsibilities:
Develops solutions to problems requiring the regular use of ingenuity and creativity
Coordinates the execution of wide scope projects with minimal supervision
Accountable for several projects
Evaluates business risk based on identified potential and existing problems
Maintains excellent lab book documents of results, conclusions and next steps
Requirements:
PhD or Master?s Degree in Chemistry with 3 - 8 years of relevant experience, or Bachelor?s Degree with 8-15 years of relevant experience, consumer products experience preferred.
Working knowledge of cGMP and/or GLP and excellent background in HPLC testing of regulated actives
Specific experience with Antiperspirant/Deodorant products
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Ability to utilize good judgment to make timely, practical, and technically sound decisions.
