Weather Forecaster

3D Resarch, a wholly owned subsidiary of Schafer Corporation, has an opportunity for a weather forecaster to work on site at Ft. Rucker located in Enterprise, Alabama. The forecasting site at Ft. Rucker is operated 24 hours per day, seven days per week.

This position is governed by a Collective Bargaining Agreement with the International Association of Aerospace and Machinists Workers.

This role is responsible for observing, recording, and disseminating weather data and information. Forecasters use satellite and radar imagery, computer generated graphics, and weather communication equipment and instruments to analyze atmospheric and space data and information.

This position forecasts atmospheric and space weather conditions and issues warnings and advisories to alert customers to mission critical weather.

Required Skills:
Applicants for this position must be eligible to obtain a security clearance, be willing to re-locate, and perform shift work.

Familiarity with quality control standards, safety management programs, and training programs a plus.

The following is required:
* minimum of 3-years of forecasting experience in support of DOD, AF, Navy, Marines, or Army operations;

* minimum of 2 years experience in the operation and interpretation of NEXRAD and associated products;

* minimum of 2 years of manual observing experience.

* ability to operate meteorological and communications equipment (AWDS, AMIS, NTFS).

Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook preferred.
