Applications Systems Analyst with a Passion for Sports


We're excited to be recruiting for our client, an established web presence in the world of high school sports. Well-established already, they are about to do an expansion of their site, and are looking to add to their technology team.

This will be a key role, reporting to and being the right hand of the Director of Technology. The company has been expanding quickly, and it's time to have someone to take on analyzing requirements and developing working specifications documentations for the programmers.

You are extremely organized, able to plan the flow of how things fit within the site making sure features work together well, and giving the programmers get the specs they need. You'll be the person to figure out the best way to do things, and to oversee project planning and generally "keep the trains running on time." An easy-going and flexible personality is key to interacting with the programmers, and will fit best on the team.

A passion for sports is important as well to fit with this team, and an understanding of sports statistics and how they're used. High school athletes or fantasy football fanatics encouraged. Must live in the Sacramento area.

Position Overview
Analyzes requirements and develops working specification documentation for use by programmers in building new, and enhancing existing applications.

Essential Job Functions
? Analyzes, defines, and documents requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks and controls, and outputs.
? Writes and maintains technical specifications
? Works with clients to design screen layouts, graphical user interfaces, printed outputs, and interfaces to other systems
? Coordinates test transactions and runs tests to find errors and confirm program meet specifications
? Works with clients to prototype, refine, test, and debug programs to meet needs
? Provides technical assistance by responding to inquiries concerning errors, problems, and questions about applications
? Monitors performance of applications and programs after implementation

Requirements
? Bachelor?s degree from a four-year college or university
? 2+ years experience
? Ability to write clearly and informatively
? Strong oral communication skills
? Understanding of the internet, its? architecture, programming, and procedures
? Knowledge of SQL Databases, Web based systems, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, HTML, Java, and MS Visual Studio
? Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

Other Skills/Abilities
? Knowledge of the MS Visual Studio Development Tool
? Knowledge of MS SQL Server 2000
? Familiarity with C# a plus
