Assistant Sports Performance Director -- Velocity Sports

Title:  Assistant Sports Performance Director

 

Reports To:  Sports Performance Director

 

Primary Functions: Manages and trains Performance Coaches, oversees the coaching program of the individual Velocity Sports Performance facility and is the lead contact with sports coaches in the local community.  The Performance Director is the primary provider of coaching to elite athletes and can provide coaching during scheduling conflicts.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Manages and trains Performance Coaches:

? Implements new training methods and protocols.

? Trains coaches during initial hiring phase.

? Monitors activities of Performance Coaches.

? Ensures Velocity Sports Performance quality standards are being met.

 

Conducts Community Outreach and Customer Relations programs:

? Builds relationships with local schools, clubs, secondary schools, organizations, business, and professional teams, coaches, elite athletes and agents.

? Delivers seminars and speeches to promote Velocity Sports Performance reputation in the community.

 

Business / Daily Operations:

? Prepares and maintains the daily schedules of the clients and coaching staff.

? Responsible for care, hygiene, and maintenance of the exercise equipment and physical facility.

? Provides a fun and safe working area for clients and coaching staff.

? Assists Business Director with any activities where qualified. 

? Stays current with training methods, equipment, and supplies.

? Monitors the Quality Control Program.

 

Conducts training sessions:

? Schedules 50% of time for classes in daily instruction.

? Provides student athlete training until other performance coaches can be scheduled.

? Provides (personal training) until other performance coaches can be scheduled.

? Provides (elite athlete training) until suitably experienced performance coach can be scheduled.

 

Human Resources:

? Manages the hiring and training process for new Performance Coaches.

? Enforces Corporate Policies.

? Monitors coaching efforts to ensure training program consistency.

? Conducts monthly meetings with staff for education, safety, new methods, and policies.

? Communicates with Business Director regarding disciplinary issues.
