Buyer/Planner

Buyer/Planner Description: Responsible for scheduling and coordinating with internal and external suppliers to meet customer demands. Includes the following: Manage business unit JDE MRP transactions, such as work order reconciliation, answer MRP messages, release work orders, put parts in finished goods. Plan and manage production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements & best utilize the Company's productivity capacity. Responsible for management of inventory levels, schedules and availability of selected items, either manufactured or purchased to meet production schedules. Review and document work in process material status from production floor. Manage and order MRO items to support production. Interface with manufacturing personnel, the Purchasing Dept and Supervisors on material status and production planning.



Requirements:
B.S. and 2 years of experience in a production planning/materials controls function. Could have combination education and experience. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence & procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information & respond to questions from groups of managers. Solid analytical skills and problem solving abilities, as well as the ability to work in stressful situations. APICS Certification preferred.
