Culinary Supervisor

This position provides leadership and direction for the culinary operations of the department within County, State and JCAHO regulations. This position also includes the planning and control of resources to achieve quality services within the financial objectives of the organization. This position promotes and exhibits the values, performance standards and behaviors consistent with those of Banner Health.

Responsibilities :

Directly Reporting:
1/3 of the Culinary Staff which will include either retail staff, chef/production staff or room service staff.
Indirectly Reporting:
2/3 of the Culinary Staff to include Secretary
Scope of Supervisory Responsibilities:
Candidate selection, training & development of staff, performance appraisals, work assignments, performance recognition/formal discipline, process improvement in areas of expertise, creative solution/problem solving, budget.

Qualifications :

Culinary Arts Degree or B.S. in nutrition and/or equivalent experience in food service management. Must have 5 years of food service management, chef or equivalent experience. Experience in healthcare preferred. Must be able to organize, lead and direct work teams and serve in a management role; must demonstrate effective communication and teamwork skills. Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
