Manager Distribution Systems

The Distribution Systems Manager is responsible for maintaining, administering and supporting all Distribution Center (DC) systems, with primary responsibility being the warehouse management system (WMS) and interactive elements (Vocollect, RF, MHE, etc). This position will initially include full immersion in Project Astro, the implementation of our new WMS across the full DC network, in order to fully comprehend all system functionality and how it can best be applied to or improve existing PetSmart business practices.



 



?  Shares key roles in implementation of new WMS across all PetSmart Distribution Centers (DC) during simultaneous implementation paths.



?  Identify base system modification requirements and develop alternative solutions.



 ?Complete full system configuration of each DC in compliance with PetSmart procedures, precedents and good business practices.



?  Direct full System and Functionality Testing process at each DC through identification of all relevant conditions and formulating applicable test scripts.



?Ensure minimal impact to normal DC operations through documentation and resolution of all issues defined during implementation process.



 ?  Understand and support best business practices for all DC operations in order to provide best system solutions and ensure efficient operations.



 ?  Manage daily maintenance on the WMS ? both current and new systems during implementation phase.



 ?  Work with DC system managers to configure WMS to match changing building operations.



 ?  Maintain accurate data flow between WMS, TMS, TIBCO and SAP systems.



 ?  Ensure consistent application of WMS policies and procedures across the DC network, including system access and security.



 ?  Perform system queries to research or discover issues in WMS.



 ?  First line of support for distribution center personnel with issues related to WMS, both current and new.



 ?  Complete user testing of all new functionality and changes to the WMS. Coordinate pilots of new functions or changes with DC?s. Document all system changes.



 ?  Provide training on WMS to new advanced users at the DC?s.?  Maintain standard WMS configuration documentation.



 ?  Provide project management support for all WMS changes, new technology rollouts and manage the software upgrade path and implementation.



 ?  Assist Distribution Services Team through active participation and cross functional opportunities with any departmental project or objective as required. 



Bachelor?s degree from a four-year college or university.  Minimum 3-4 years experience working in a warehousing, logistics or operations environment.



Intermediate experience with Warehouse Management Systems (Manhattan Systems WM/LM for Open Systems preferred).Relocation available.
