Position Summary:
Directs the activities of the personnel engaged in production planning, storage and distribution of raw materials, equipment, machinery and supplies. Manages all supply chain and production planning activities. Effectively balances the supply/demand and production plan over the planning horizon. Works closely with Operations Management to achieve the highest levels of customer service with minimum inventory investment and maximum production productivity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 Responsible for the activities of Shipping & Receiving personnel for all three facilities. Duties are all-encompassing and include performance reviews, training and coaching, and direct supervision.
 Dotted line responsibility for all Planners in three facilities including performance review input, training and coaching.
 Generates and maintains the master production schedule based on sales order entries and production's status changes.
 Responsible for Input/Maintenance of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) 'Driver'
 Develop and communicate regular program status reports for internal and external customers with the intention to monitor and report progress to schedule.
 Drive implementation planning and establish lead times.
 Develop budgets and forecasts for material inflow and inventory levels.
 Develop programs to ensure accuracy of all inventory transactions.
 Develop the order policy strategy for the three sites, including min/max, lot for lot, periods supply
 Develop a planning schedule for start up programs.
 Provide contingency plans for alternative production schedules to include identifying constraints and alternative solutions.
 Create standard work at the plants for scheduling, receiving, Kan Ban systems, lot sizes, cycle counting, etc.
 Develop inventory reduction targets and increase inventory turns.
 Develops effective and achievable plans; establishes realistic project goals and milestones.
 Demonstrates judgment and flexibility when adjustments are necessary.
 Challenges the status quo by taking a new look at old problems and ongoing opportunities. Takes ownership of problems when in the scope of the job, and displays creative and enthusiastic approach to resolving them.
 Track performance and report to staff weekly.
 Attend meetings with internal groups and external customers and communicates with other leaders and plant manager as needed.
 Uses tact and diplomacy.
 Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:
 Post-secondary degree or diploma in Materials Management or Business Administration and a minimum of 5+ years experience in a similar role in a MRP/JIT environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
 Strong leadership and influencing skills and will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment.
 Proven track record in a high mix, high volume manufacturing environment. CNC machining and blades and vanes experience preferred.
 Strong understanding of manufacturing processes/supply chain management, capacity planning and load analyses.
 Ability to develop and utilize business system (JDE) at its full capability (i.e., forecasting, safety stock forecasting, planning, inventory control).
' Prior supervisory/management experience a must.
' Experience in customer communications and building a professional relationship with customer.
' Skilled in Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Project).
' Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Experience:
 Preferred understanding and experience with Continuous Improvement and Lean Techniques.
 Experience with JD Edwards or similar MRP and inventory system.
 APICS Certification desired.
