Become part of a new Supplier Engineering Team forming within the Tektronix Global Supply Chain organization. Responsible to assess technical process capabilities for new suppliers, work with defined segment of existing supply base to drive continuous improvements in quality, and work collaboratively with Suppliers, Design and Manufacturing Engineering to effect the rapid resolution of technical problems and quality issues. Make significant contributions to cost management process team. Drive improvements in supplier process capability linked to improvements in Tektronix cost, quality and delivery. Advance assigned commodities to a proactive/ strategic Supplier Engineering focus.



Additional Specific Responsibilities include:



Support Electrical Section Commodity Team including contributions to PCB, specialty custom electrical, RF, ASIC, and Hybrid component commodities.
Ownership for capital requirements and any tooling transfers. Technical leadership for transitions or consolidations with assigned commodities.
Work integrally with suppliers to develop formal supplier quality plans that include formal process capability measurements.
Drive DFx activity for assigned commodities in support of NPI requirements.
Contribute to definition, documentation and implementation of assigned Supplier Quality Engineering process.
Work with suppliers to develop fixturing and measurement systems to build in supplier process quality.
Play a key role in success of electrical commodity team including achievement of cost targets, quality goals, and supplier reduction objectives.
Conduct supplier quality activities including first article qualification and measurement.
Conduct root cause analysis for supplier quality problems dispositioned by the material review board.


The successful candidate will be a proactive analytical thinker who excels in written/verbal communication and meets the following requirements.



BS in Engineering, Masters in Business or Engineering desired. Preference given to candidate with Electrical Engineering Degree.
5 years minimum experience in Supplier Quality Engineering, Supplier Development with demonstrated success in attainment of continuous cost and quality improvements from suppliers.
Applied knowledge and experience with statistics and statistical process control.
Experience and knowledge of Electrical and Electromechanical Supplier processes. Electrical commodity manufacturing process and tooling knowledge.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional teams and manage supplier/ process change.
Understanding of electronic manufacturing and assembly processes.
Able to travel internationally on a regular basis.
Preference to candidates with international experience.
ASQ CQE or Six Sigma certification. Lean supply chain experience desirable.
Knowledge of electrical component specifications and ability to read and interpret component drawings.
