Senior Technical Support, Lead
The Senior Technical Support, Lead will support installation, commissioning and efficient operation of material distribution systems. Swisslog seeks an experienced technician to work with a team of engineers and technicians to diagnose and troubleshoot the customers? manufacturing or distribution process. The Senior Technical Support, Lead will execute emergency and scheduled service calls as well as train junior technicians.
Location: Newport News, VA
Minimum Requirements:
? AS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or
? 5+ years experience in a technical service environment inclusive of strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting
? Computer literate in all MS Office products, SAP experience a benefit
? Minimum 3+ years experience in Allen-Bradley or Siemens (both preferred)
? Ability to program and troubleshoot frequency inverters (Yaskawa, Omron, SEW, others)
? Fiedbus (devicenet, controlnet, profibus, ASI, profinet) experience
? Ability to multi-task and work independently
? Experience in giving technical training to groups
? Some technical writing experience in documenting technical data/information
? Ability to troubleshoot systems down to component level
? General knowledge of products, applications, and experience in controls technology
? Excellent verbal/written communications skills
? Proven track record in a fast-paced, demanding environment, with the ability to be flexible and adapt well to change
? Ability to address problems and provide proactive solutions that enhance customers? operational efficiencies
? High level of motivation and sound work ethic
? Ability to travel as much as 50?70% to perform maintenance and sometimes training on equipment
Desirable but not Essential:
? 5+ years as part of a Service team or service preferred
? Experience with warehouse or factory automation sub-system operations and maintenance
? Software (C++, DOT NET, SQL) programming experience
? HMI development (RSView, Wonderware, Protools, WinCC) experience
? Experience in the warehouse or factory automation industry
