Doherty Career Solutions has partnered with a manufacturer and supplier of composite panels to search for a Shipping and Receiving Supervisor to work at their Minneapolis facility.  The Supervisor will provide supervision in regard Shipping and Receiving, Logistics, Inventory Control and Cycle Counting.

 

Summary:

 

This position is responsible for providing leadership for all shipping and receiving workers, which includes supervising and directing all related work activities.  Work closely with all members of management staff to ensure that the highest quality products meet scheduled commitments in a safe/efficient manner at the lowest possible cost. 

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

 

1. Supervision, coaching, and counseling of all Team members.

2. Works closely with Production Management to meet Customer Service Commitments. 

3. ?Hands On? participation as necessary to accomplish Team Building Objectives.

4. Fosters environment empowering Team members to grow to maximum potential.

5. Leads all Safety and Ergonomic improvement efforts.

6. Ensures all Team members are fully trained and capable to do the jobs they are asked to perform.  Audits training at frequent intervals.

7. Participates in the recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and performance appraisals for all direct reports. 

8. Co-manages the tracking system to ensure all information is accurate and available for administrative reporting systems.

9. Manages cost performance requirements assigned to first line Leadership responsibility.

 

Education and Experience Required:

1. Two years post high school, college or vocational training.

2. Minimum 5 years work experience in similar role required. 

3. Prior experience with inventory control, and cycle counting.

4. Strong experience with shipping and receiving, bills of lading, UPS, FedEx, and other shipping providers.

5. Strong communicator, coach, and mentor.  Must possess an ability to manage people, materials, and processes through application of leading practices and methods.

6. Experience communicating and motivating a diverse population.
