Sourcing Process Leader

Job Description

Major Responsibilities:
* Supervise site procurement activities to include direct supervision of site purchasing professionals.
* Provide leadership to procurement professionals in the areas of supply chain management.
* Researches and recommends sourcing management techniques, best practices and strategies.
* Collaborates in or supervises the implementation of new or enhanced sourcing processes and strategies.
* Participate on site leadership team and foster supply chain management concepts.
* Develops external sources of supplier, commodity, and market information, which provide profile, financial, and industry information on selected suppliers and industries.
* Identifies external price and market indices used to measure and track internal buying, supplier performance, and/or market trends.
* Is a safety champion for contractors at Phelps Dodge Miami.
* Functions in a key role specific to contractor safety, safety management, and safety practices.
* Responsible for leading contract administration for outside services to include the development of proper contracting procedures which maximize value of services rendered while providing appropriate contract protection.
* Plays a critical role in cost management.
* Serves as a resource to customers relative to procurement/contract activities and needs.
* Assists customers with scope development, deliverables definition, scheduling, bidder list, pre-bid meetings, etc.
* Provides contract management and procurement training to internal customers.

Minimum Requirements:
* Bachelors degree in business, engineering or a technical discipline.
* Five (5) years of materials management and purchasing experience.
* Knowledge of supply chain management strategies and concepts.
* Knowledge of material usage, inventory control techniques and planning systems.
* Knowledge of specifications of materials, services and equipment purchased by the Company.
* Knowledge of sourcing policies and procedures.
* Knowledge of purchase order and accounts payable processes.
* Knowledge of public relations/customer service principles, practices and techniques.
* Knowledge of a variety of computer software, including word process, database, and spreadsheet applications.
* Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions

Preferred Qualifications:
