Sr. Material Planner - FTZ Coordinator

We have an excellent opportunity for you to join a growing global automotive supplier as a Sr. Material Planner - FTZ Coordinator at our Spartanburg, SC location.

OVERVIEW:

The Sr. Material Planner- FTZ Coordinator is responsible for ensuring coordination and release of components required to meet production schedules and customer requirements. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

? To ensure compliance with the laws and regulations related to importing and transferring materials to and from a foreign trade zone.
? Maintain a compliance program based on written instructions, documentation, training, audits, and process improvements.
? To facilitate on-time delivery of product by ensuring suppliers, brokers, freight forwarders, and carriers adhere to the guidelines and expectations set forth in regard to a foreign trade zone.
? Influence and direct business partners in accomplishing the above stated purposes.
? Establish internal policies and prepare and maintain foreign trade zone procedure manual.
? Liaison with plant operations to ensure understanding of FTZ regulations.
? Ensure classification, valuation, country of origin, and record keeping requirements are met.
? Create and provide educational programs and specific training as it relates to FTZ compliance to plant employees, suppliers, and service providers where required.
? Address day to day compliance matters through daily maintenance activities as required by the FTZ software systems.
? Manage external relationships with customers, suppliers, and other parties involved in compliance.
? Report status of foreign trade zone compliance to plant management.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's Degree in related field (i.e., international, business administration, public administration)
?Foreign Trade Zone, Customs or other import experience preferred
?Strong oral and written communication, excellent computer skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize work requirements, and attention to detail are essential.
?This position may require travel
