Sr. Quality Engineer

POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a member of the Quality Engineering group, the selected candidate will be responsible for the product quality issues for a select Tellabs product line as well as performance management of select Contract Manufacturing suppliers specializing in providing Printed Circuit Boards and other finished goods for customer usage



QUALIFICATIONS:

?Thoroughly knowledgeable of PCBA manufacturing methods
?Experience in PCBA design methods and requirements
?Product design experience/New product Introduction experience a plus
?Thoroughly knowledgeable of Printed Circuit Board Workmanship and Quality Standards (IPC 600)
?PCBA inspection experience
?Knowledgeable of Six Sigma or equivalent Continuous improvement methodology
?Ability to travel 40% of time
?Experienced in quality management of 3rd party Contract Manufacturers, defect identification, and corrective action planning
?Experienced in defining and analyzing performance and process control metrics and developing corrective action strategies to support product/process improvement
?Excellent verbal and organizational skills
?Excellent project management skills
?Strong computer skills including MS project
?Ability to coordinate multiple projects and assignments with minimal supervision
?Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and gain consensus with a widely diverse employee base.
?Ability to provide detailed status reports referring to project plans, specifications, timelines, accomplishments, and action items
?Strong problem solving ability
?Ability to communicate effectively up and down the organization
?Strong training and coaching ability
?Ability to build positive relationships
