Supplier Developer - will source, establish and manage an international strategic supply chain ensuring organization has a world wide materials supply base keeping in consideration cost, quality and delivery.  This position will play a key role in developing suppliers to world class standards.

 Identify, evaluate and develop a supply chain of commercial suppliers based on service, quality, price, and lead-time considerations.  Maintain positive vendor relationships to provide internal customers with the best possible suppliers available to help satisfy their materials needs on time, every time.Prepare purchase orders, request for proposals, bids and other similar and necessary documents related to the purchasing of product and components to support manufacturing, product development and R&D.  Analyze quotations for new components from current or new suppliers in a manner that is consistent with the sourcing strategy.Will be responsible for negotiating and/or implementing contracts with the suppliers for price, quality, delivery and warranty.  Will find innovative ways to reach common ground with the suppliers to make a win/win but always keeping the organization?s interest in mindSupport blanket order releases and routine purchase order activity to support R&D projects and the manufacture of components and systems. Serve as the primary supply chain representative on new products initiatives.  Provides analysis and direction regarding supply chain feasibility, manufacturing and sourcing strategy, logistics and customer service implications, etc.  Provide clear, frequent communication regarding project status. Resolve quality and delivery issues with suppliers; audit suppliers as necessary and develop improvement plans.  Monitor suppliers? progress and publish reports.Monitor and maintain current component configurations/revisions and change order process including the negotiation of all contract changes due to design revisions, and report order status.Assist in the on-going maintenance of the procurement system order transactions, change order transactions, and corrections.Convert sales forecast into manufacturing forecast for the suppliers.Function as a team member to share ideas, exchange and report information, and develop solutions to problems. 

 

Qualifications:

- Bachelor?s degree in Business, Operations Management, Material or Industrial Engineering

- Five to seven years of Lean Manufacturing experience required including Supplier Development, Purchasing, TQM, and BOM Maintenance.  Some shipping/receiving experience preferred.

- Sound knowledge of Supplier Development, Procurement &TQM

-Expert level knowledge of MRP systems

-Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

-Knowledge of JIT, JIT II, KANBAN, Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma is a strong plus.

-Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

-APICS Certification as a CPIM or CIRM is a Plus
