Position Description:

Scholastic Book Fairs works with schools across the country to host more than 120,000 annual reading events, connecting more than 55 million children with great books each year. Book Fairs foster enthusiasm for reading, while helping to build school and classroom libraries by providing students, teachers and parents access to thousands of books and educational products at affordable prices.

We are looking for a Supply Chain Data Specialist to:
Develop seasonal monitor plan, communicate, and coordinate with field users.
Responsible for quality control of all data collected via monitor process.
Identify issues and trends related to data errors. Provide recommended process and system enhancements to eliminate data discrepancies.
Maintain and distribute daily, weekly, monthly reports.
Analyze, update and maintain various databases in the GEMMA purchasing system, Access, and Excel.
Analyze root causes of service failures and develop plans to reduce/eliminate these occurrences.
Create ad hoc reporting as necessary to support short term projects.
Cross-train in all aspects of Supply Chain operations
Provide solutions for the field based Regional Inventory Managers and help resolve any open Supply Chain issues.
Perform special projects as requested by senior leadership.

Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Information Services, Supply Chain, Transportation, Logistics, Management or related area preferred.
Intermediate to Advanced level of Proficiency using MS Access, Excel, and Word.
At least 2 years of previous experience in a Supply Chain environment. Day-to-day interaction with inventory and purchasing, preferred. Possess analytical ability to query and data-mine large disparate databases for the pertinent information.
Ability to take ownership of processes and technology solution to facilitate timely delivery of supply.
Takes initiative while being a team player.
Able to prioritize the work and maintain a high sense of urgency for deliverable dates.
Detail oriented, self-disciplined with initiative.
