Supply Chain Planner

JOB SCOPE/ SUMMARY: -Develop and manage a production schedule over a 90 day horizon

-Execute supply chain coordination from plant production (including purchasing) through distribution center shipping

-Manage inventory levels throughout the supply chain with regard to raw materials, packaging and finished goods

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

-Develop and maintain a production schedules at the daily, weekly, and monthly time frames along with a distribution center inventory stocking plan that ensures enough finished goods to ship customer orders 100% complete, while working within distribution center pallet storage constraints.

-Manage factory production capacity, distribution center inventory targets, seasonal sales promotions, and discontinued and damaged item rework. Develop and maintain a production schedule that avoids overstocks as well as stock outs while coordinating raw material and packaging receipt with the production schedule

-Maximize plant capacities and efficiencies by proper batch sequencing and batch balancing with manufacturing plant management.

-Provide a scheduling solution for any material shortages, equipment downtime, batch reformulations or staffing imbalances.

-Provide coordination and communication of all changes to the production schedule to supply chain partners, particularly in manufacturing, purchasing, distribution and sales.

-Analyze scheduling performance and plan appropriate resolution in order to remain an on time complete shipper

-Analyze inventory position and forecasted sales to allocate finished goods production for distribution to Company regional distribution centers. Analyze the performance of actual sales to forecasted sales and advise Demand Planning of large variances.

-Managing time and communications to support teamwork that is proactive and that builds alternative solutions for being an on time shipper at 100% complete.

-Is performance based in a work environment that is measured by key performance indicators (KPI's) such as 'fill rate', 'inventory weeks of supply by DC' and 'inventory days of supply' by SKU.

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/TRAINING:

-Educational or work experience attainment equivalent to high school graduation and college course work involving production, operations, management and job scheduling APICS MRP training also preferable

 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES RECOMMENDED FOR POSITION:

-Possess knowledge of effective batch sequencing, factory equipment load balancing and capacity planning

-Possess basic math skills and have a clear understanding of forecasting and budgeting methods

-Possess good computer skills and have a clear understanding of MS Office software

-Possess experience working in an MRP/ERP environment (SAP preferred)

-Ability to communicate both orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner that is business process focused and centered

-Ability to command supply chain leadership in dealing with manufacturing, distribution, purchasing and sales

 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

-Possess considerable theoretical knowledge of MRP systems and scheduling practices along with practical knowledge in an ERP environment (SAP

preferred)
