Supply Chain Procurement Engineer

Job Description:  Responsible for working closely with our Engineers and Suppliers to match our design and manufacturing needs with suppliers process capabilities at the lowest acquisitioned cost.  Engineering background within a manufacturing environment will be very useful as you work with key members of the Supply Chain, New Product Development, Engineering and other key functional areas of the business. 

 

 

Main Job Duties/Responsibilities:

 

? Lead Strategic Sourcing activities with the Supply Chain team

? Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers

? Drive performance improvements programs to increase quality and delivery times

? Supply Chain Representative on New Product Development teams

? Participate in a Supplier Development program with key metrics for supply chain process improvement

? Utilizing engineering skills to resolve supplier related issues and non-conformances

? Working with manufacturing and quality department to help resolve incoming part issues

? Building suppliers knowledge and understanding of our drawing, specifications requirements

? Evaluating and approving new suppliers

? Leading supplier assessments and audits

 

Qualifications (requirements that a candidate MUST have to fill the position)

 

Education: Have a BSME, BSIE, BSEE ? Previous experience in a manufacturing environment with a solid track record of continuous improvement and sourcing program experience is required.

 

  Experience:

? Minimum of 5 years experience in Engineering (product or process) in a manufacturing environment

? Experience with supplier development and negotiation

? Sourcing Strategy experience

? Strong analytical abilities

? Experience in Quality methodologies (ISO 9000, QS 9000)strongly preferred, (ISO 13485) is highly desired

? Excellent written and verbal communication skills

? The use of SPC tools
