Supply Chain Project Leader

Purpose:

As a member of the Procurement team, drive strategic sourcing projects and supply chain best practices to maximize PerkinElmer?s product cost productivity. Work closely with site Operations and R&D leadership to develop and execute key sourcing and value engineering projects. Leverage commodity expertise, process and supplier knowledge to assist the GSS team members and sites in completing key projects

 

Key Responsibilities:Champion material cost reduction projects to attain site productivity commitments.Coordinate on sourcing projects with GSS team and Materials Manager to migrate production material spends to low cost suppliers, globally.Aggressively drive for sustained cost deflation or avoidance through negotiations, and supplier process / productivity improvements.Articulate project status, savings results and drivers of performance to team members and Management, regularly.Work with other sites and GSS team members on global projects to maximize total PerkinElmer savings.Negotiate supplier contractual terms & conditions (including long-term agreements) in conjunction with the GSS team.Develop new suppliers and execute supplier surveys, qualifications, audits. Travel requirements: Approximately 10% travel.

 

Essential Knowledge and Skills:Demonstrated history of success in supplier assessment, qualification, rationalization and  re-sourcing to low cost areas.Experience in Asian sourcing and negotiations required.Project management skills in driving, coordinating, tracking, and closure of multiple programs.Professional with 3 to 5 years Procurement or Manufacturing Engineering experience in an Engineering or Technical Products environment. Possess a four year degree in engineering, operations, or supply chain from an accredited institution.Excellent negotiation and influencing skills. Effectively instills strong sense of urgency and speed to all projects and team members.  Excellent interpersonal skills and experience working in a multi-functional, multi-cultural, environment. Six Sigma ?Green Belt? or ?Black Belt? certification is a plusISM CPM certification is a plus.
