Supply Chain Quality Engineer

This Supply Chain Quality Engineer has the following responsibilities:

? Drive quality improvement of the handset data devices.
? Support improved Logistics and Delivery process quality.
? Lead the CINGULAR relationship for driving product quality improvement with handset suppliers.
? Work directly with our suppliers? quality organizations to drive corrective actions.
? Set CINGULAR handset product quality goals, measures performance to those goals and drives improvement.
? Use Supplier Scorecards (monthly and periodic), Period Supplier Performance Reviews, Closed Loop Corrective Action processes to achieve this.
? Contribute to the Monthly SCQE Handset Supplier Performance Executive Summary report using the warranty exchange rates as the primary indicator, estimating the % defective handsets.
? Drive CLCA (Closed Loop Corrective Actions).
? Perform Supplier Process Risk Assessments/audits of supplier.
? Lead special projects (proactive improvements to our supply chain quality processes).
? Improve& document SCQE processes.
? Coordinate First Article Inspection schedules & drives supplier certification to perform FAI.
? Facilitate Supplier Performance Reviews & Scorecards 3 time/year.
? Mentor on appropriate preventative and corrective actions.


QUALIFICATIONS

Skills/Qualifications:
? BSEE or Equivalent in Engineering, Quality or related technical field, plus ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Reliability Engineer or 6 Sigma Black Belt/Master Black Belt .
? Recognized as an industry specialist in quality improvement of electronic high volume products.
? Familiar with wireless data devices and their uses.
? Knowledge of wireless data device software applications a plus.
? Uses professional engineering concepts in accordance with company objectives
? 6 Sigma Black or green belt.
? Statistical analysis skills. Capable of using statistical analysis to aid in the determination of business decisions relating to product quality. Candidate should be skilled in the use of a statistical analysis tool like MINITAB or equivalent to aid in quick analysis of data.
? Leadership skills: must be able to lead cross functional project teams as well as direct reports.
? Communications skills: Excellent oral and written communications and interpersonal skills are necessary.
? Mentoring: Must be willing and able to mentor less experienced personnel.
? Negotiations & influence: Must be a skilled negotiator.
? Accomplished in Project Management - Estimates time, resources, and steps required for meeting goals. Measures progress. Overcomes obstacles.
? Organizationally Aware.
? Consistently overcomes obstacles & meets objectives.
