The job description for this position is identified as Sustaining Project Sourcing Manager for Grass Valley, a strategic business unit of Thomson.  This position will report to the Global Advanced and Project Sourcing Manager for Grass Valley (Eric). 


a) Scope

  * Manage all Advanced and Project Sourcing functions for specific Grass Valley product line, including the following:

?  Advanced Sourcing

?  Key component sourcing

?  Component roadmaps

?  Competitive industry analysis

?  Outlining strategic sourcing direction to engineering and development

?  Project Sourcing

?  Core team member in project development and design

?  Act as project lead for sourcing

?  Margin Review responsibilities for product line

?  Interface with development, Global Commodities Managers, and manufacturing (both CM and internal)

?  Implement Global Commodity Managers and Broadcast Commodity Managers strategies

?  Implement and utilize Early to Market Process

?  Monitor ECN and approvals

?  Support Production Buyers in transition for ramp up

?  Support manufacturing ramp up

?  Sustaining Sourcing

?  Ongoing pricing and cost reduction responsibilities

?  Regular supplier negotiations for current products

?  Manage Cost Reduction Teams and consolidate cost improvements

?  Manage cost reduction programs with Global Commodity Managers and GV Commodity Managers, and the development teams

?  Manage Price Material Variance for product line lifetime

?  Site Sourcing Lead

?  Generate and present management reports outlining Key Performance Indicators

?  Take leadership role in all Sourcing activities for a given site, including NPP, Easysource, WCAP, VMI and other local supply agreements
