 Description

GENCO has an immediate opening for a Logistics Service Representative for our Supply Chain Management Division. This position will be on-site at our customer facility located in Alpharetta, GA.

Be part of a team to coordinate and execute the day-to-day transportation activities for our customer. The Logistics Service Representative is responsible for working within a team to execute the operations strategy as determined through the sales process. The representative works with the customer, carrier, and internal teammates to provide service to customers and deliver value to the customer supply chain.

The position is responsible for:Optimizing transportation shipments for our customers while balancing service and cost using transportation management softwareMonitoring and tracking transportation shipments from inception into system to final delivery.Creatively identifying opportunities to provide additional value to our customers.Maintaining relationships established with carriers to ensure capacity and monitor service standards.Communicating effectively with customers, carriers and teammates.Supporting the customer freight payment process to include the receipt and audit of transportation expenditures.


 Required Skills


The successful candidate will have:3+ years of transportation or logistics operations experience is desirable, some interaction with customer management and operations staff is preferred.
Some college desired but not required, Bachelor or Associate degree is a strong plus.
Experience with consumer-packaged goods (delivering to big box retailers: Wal-mart, Target, etc.)
Experience with transportation management and optimization systems.
Strong ability to communicate verbally and electronically; high level of attention to detail.
Comfortable with MS Excel.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high degree of enthusiasm, professionalism and motivation.
