Wahehouse Manager

Responsible for coordinating and managing all warehouse activities on a daily basis including the receiving, warehousing, shipping and delivery of product in a manner consistent with company service and cost objectives.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



1. Supervises and coordinates the unloading of inbound shipments, orderly stacking of product, and the picking and staging of outbound shipments.



2. Verifies required inbound/outbound paperwork with drivers, ensuring that all products are properly counted.




3. Manages the distribution center transportation fleet.




4. Ensures the efficient and safe operation of all materials handling equipment.




5. Participates in establishing work schedules and ensures that the schedules are correctly implemented and that jobs are assigned effectively and completed properly.




6. Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly work area and assists in maintaining the security and safety of the warehouse.




7. Ensures total adherence to all Federal statutes regarding warehouse operation including DEA and OSHA regulations.




8. Moves products to storage areas with proper equipment and efficiently stacks and stores the merchandise in the appropriate area.




9. Coordinates and/or checks in product returns and updates inventory balances on hand.




10. Inspects physical condition of warehouse and equipment and prepares work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement of equipment.




11. Confers with department heads to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with such activities as production, sales, records control, and purchasing.




12. Participates in planning personnel safety and warehouse protection activities.




13. Directs salvage of damaged or used material.




14. Ensures the accuracy of all shipping documents -- gathers and maintains all data records relative to shipping activities.




15. Screens and hires warehouse personnel and issues work assignments. Provides training for new warehouse teammates.




16. Confers with drivers to ensure delivery of products in a manner consistent with company service and cost objectives.




17. Coordinates all preparation and distribution of documentation pertaining to worker accidents.





SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:




1. May pick orders for shipment and assemble various types of merchandise to be shipped.




2. May load and unload freight from trucks in an efficient and safe manner.




3. May be responsible for off-site warehouse and equipment leasing.




4. May be responsible for night picking/packing operations including JIT packing, labeling, cart packing, etc.




5. Performs additional duties as directed.
