Warehouse Operations Specialist

ALSTOM Power, Inc., a global leader and provider of power generation engineering, products, and services, is seeking a Warehouse Operations Specialist for its Logistics & Supply Chain Operations department.  This position is based at our Midlothian, VA location.

 

Basic Functions:

The basic functions of the position are to provide support for all warehouse operation activities for gas, steam, industrial & OOEM product lines relative to spare parts or field tooling/equipment inventories. The primary responsibility of this function is the timely and accurate processing of gas turbine spare parts site returns for GT24, base and new fleet product lines. The person in this position will also be responsible for on site materials management support for contractual outages and long-term service agreements (LTSA) at the customer facility.

 

Essential Functions:

The essential functions of this job include, but are not limited to, the following (may perform other functions that may be assigned):

 
Perform incoming inventory of GT24 site return parts to determine part #, description, quantities, crate # and serial #?s & input pertinent data into Baden CSGL/TLB database.
Execute Baden disposition GT24 site returns to scarp, store in RIC, reconditioning or ship to Birr.
Maintain CSGL/R20 physical inventory.
Ensure timely incoming inspection & inventory of Base & New fleet spare part site returns to disposition for scrap or potential candidate for future reconditioning & eventual stock.
Inventory site returned PPC, EIC & GIC cabinets, report usage to Inventory Management and replenish stock.
Knowledge of import and export requirements.
Material handling equipment experience.
Pick and Pack spare parts or field tooling orders to meet Customer requirement.
Perform cycle counts as required.
Maintain tracking log for non-inventory items stored in the warehouse.
Ensure warehouse OSHA compliance and good housekeeping.
Perform materials management/inventory control duties during assigned GT and other contractual outages at customer sites.
Maximize utilization of warehouse racks and floor space.
Control and execute timely disposition of MRD transactions.
Maintain Haz Mat certification.
Respond to off-hour emergency shipments.
Assist the Warehouse Operations Leads & Manager in the performance of other duties as required.

 Associate QualificationsEducation

Associates Degree or 5 years equivalent experience in warehousing or field service outage execution.

 Skills/Experience
Previous managing experience at site outages related to service/support efforts for parts & tooling or environment relative to small & large turbine industry.
Familiarization of GT24 spare parts and knowledge of field tooling site utilization a plus.
Proficiency in the operation of material handling equipment.
Warehouse & distribution skills.
Good PC software proficiencies utilizing PDM, Lotus Notes, Excel, Word, Internet and AS400/JDE.
