Application DBA

These interconnection points facilitate the highest performance and growth of the Internet by serving as neutral and open marketplaces for Internet infrastructure services, allowing customers to expand their businesses while reducing costs. Responsibilities: Oracle Applications administration, administering data stored in database systems, including backup and recovery, space management and access control.   Installing, configuring and maintaining database server software, including integration with network and operating system services.  Monitoring and tuning database systems for appropriate performance and availability, and assisting others with database application performance tuning.   Assisting in the design and implementation of data views for the support of end user reporting.  Designing and configuring application development systems, including the applications change management processes.  Providing assistance on projects related to the overall IT effort as needed.  Performs some Application Administration tasks as required.  Participates in the DBA on-call rotation for 7x24 emergency supports of corporate databases.  Responsible for planning, coordinating, and administration of Oracle database(s), including base definition, structures, documentation, upgrades, long-range requirements, operational guidelines, and protection.  Ensures accuracy and completeness of data in master files and various support tools, such as base dictionaries.  Establishes and maintains security integrity controls.  Formulates and monitors policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management.  Responsibilities may also include the following: troubleshooting, recovery, tuning of the database, software installation, resolving Oracle errors and failures, auditing activities, and resource utilization. 

 Qualifications: 5 to 7 years experience as an Oracle Applications DBA for E-Business Suite 11i. Oracle certification desired. Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, MIS or equivalent.
