Applications Developer

 

This position is a member of the Technology and Information Management team and is a highly motivated individual with a strong personal drive, excellent interpersonal skills, and excellent technical skills. The Developer is a self-starter who anticipates problems, spots business opportunities and initiates new projects.

 

Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities include application development, enhancement and problem resolution.  Must be able to work effectively from requirements documents, perform required analysis and develop appropriate technical solutions to create applications for implementation and support of new client programs.  Additionally, strong analytical skills and experience with large relational databases are desired. The Developer must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and have excellent communication skills to constructively interface with management and user personnel.

 

Candidate must be able to conceptually and technically develop web applications using Cold Fusion, SQL coding, HTML, CSS and employ Photoshop for interface design.

Intermediate knowledge of Cold Fusion and SQL programming is required. Must have experience with SQL Server and designing relational databases. Proficiency in hand-coding is a must.

 

The Developer is effective in documenting requirements, in testing systems, and in working with the life cycle process. Has developed code or written programs from scratch to be used in a production environment. The Developer works in both developing and maintaining applications for production environments.

 

A successful candidate will design, configure and maintain various internal and external company web sites based on organizational business strategies and goals.

 

Requirements:

A degree from an accredited College, technical institution, or equivalent work experience.

5 or more years experience in a working environment.

Minimum of 3 years of previous software development/programming experience.

Experience with Client/Server and Web Development/Applications is a plus

Strong database skills in Access, SQL, MySQL, SQL Server Cold fusion programming experience is a must

Ability to take business requirements and develop the total technical design for assigned mid-sized projects.

Conduct appropriate test reviews on assigned projects as necessary.

Present findings and offer solutions to management.

Familiarity and experience in different phases of software development life cycle.

Oracle Database design and information architecture a plus.

Microsoft based programs development is a plus.

Excellent time management skills. Solid & effective communication skills and the ability to interface well with all levels of clientele, employees of company, and executives.
