We are seeking an Avaya Voice Systems Specialist who will work as part of a team (consisting of the client's staff, plus one other consultant) to help to deploy a new global Avaya VolP infrastructure across 100 locations globally over the next two years by spending two to three weeks at each site managing the end-to-end deployment, including collecting information about the current phone system at the site, giving Avaya engineers the complete specification for the set up of the new system, managing Avaya engineers in performing the installation work, and performing extensive testing over each cutover weekend.  He/She will also work with the client team to plan upcoming site migrations and work with Avaya to deal with systemic problems that arise during the roll-out. 

For small sites the consultant may be there alone.  For larger sites other members of the team will share the work.

 

Essential Functions:

90% - On-site managing an installation and cutover

10% - Planning for upcoming migrations and resolving systemic problems

 

Qualifications:

10+ years experience in PBX systems, of which at least the last four must have been working on Avaya products.

Must be capable of managing all aspects of a PBX installation project, including hands-on installation and operating the administrative interface of an Avaya system to configure extensions, dialing plans, traffic routing plans, etc.

Must be prepared to travel up to 90% of the time, with periods away from home base of up to a month at a time.  Must be prepared to work over the weekend for many weekends a year.
