Certified CCNA Network Manager

Ameritraining, Inc. is searching for a Certified CCNA Network Manager who will be responsible for ensuring the availability of production networks, managing planned and unplanned outage resolution.

 

This is a Contract Position that could last up to 18 months.

 

The candidate wil provide Tier 1-4 support for LAN, WANs, internal security and customer internet services. The Manager will be responsible for driving the resolution of network events by engaging appropriate resources from organizations. The manager must be able to research and perform advanced root cause analysis and use that information to drive the prioritization of network outages. The manager will be responsible for identifying and developing remediation plans for outage prevention. Resolve problems, conduct training, and implement emergency procedures associated with departmental usage of systems in order to provide 100% system availability. Coordinates field dispatches and documents resolution of issue. Drive escalations through all levels of management in other organizations to resolve network trouble. Strong interpersonal skills required as the individual will be working with suppliers. Coordinates with and interacts as an advocate to the supplier to resolve escalated customer service requests. Manages liaison activities between suppliers and end users for maintenance activities.

Responsible for analysis and trouble shooting network communication problems. Engineers must have a high knowledge level of a wide variety of services including DSL, DIA, NBVPN, NBS, VOIP and Dial. Must have a complete understanding of networking technologies to include, but not limited to: ISP, DNS, RADIUS, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, Solaris, TCP/IP, OSI, IPX, CIDR, SONET, Frame Relay, ATM and IP addressing/sub netting. Engineers must have strong knowledge of Cisco, Redback, and Juniper routers/switches/hubs, and Sun Microsystems SPARC/Ultras/SunFire servers and their configurations.

Be able to simulate customer activity to isolate issues within the network. Monitors network element performance for adherence to company requirements to ensure that suppliers are addressing company needs in a timely manner. Other responsibilities will include the validation of Infrastructure alarms and correlating those alarms. Acts as point of escalation for internal customer care organizations such as the DESC and Tier II DSL Support on network outages.


Required:
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA or higher CCNP/CCIE) is required for this position. 1 year working experience with routing and switching equipment. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Strong attention to detail and self motivation are required.

Desired:
3+ years working experience with routing and switching equipment in an Internet environment. Use of 3rd party tools such as SMARTS, Netcool, BRIXS, Concord, MRTG, Keynote, Cricket, Adlex and others to effectively recognize and isolate issues. Experience with SONET, ATM, FR, IP, VOIP, and Messaging a plus.
