Chief Scientist

When a cell phone user is in an emergency situation and dials 911, there?s little room for error. They need to be accurately located regardless of their environment or the mobile phone that they're using.

Today, TruePosition?s wireless location technology is being deployed nationwide in the Cingular Wireless and T-Mobile networks as well as several regional networks. It exceeds the FCC?s E-911 Phase II accuracy requirements, and it works consistently, in all environments and with all cell phones. In addition, it provides a platform for a wide range of applications for public and personal safety.

Public Safety Applications

Exceeds the FCC E-911 Phase II accuracy requirements in virtually any environment. Any phone, anywhere: including indoors and in cities with tall buildings; able to locate any current or future cell phone on the market. Being deployed nationwide in the U.S. with large and small wireless operators including: Cingular Wireless, T-Mobile, Viaero Wireless, and Iowa Wireless. Enables a wide range of public and personal safety applications beyond E-911 such as personal security or medical alerts, child tracking, lone worker management, crash or stolen vehicle notification or bulk emergency alerts.

The need for Enhanced 911 Service

In the early 1990s, as mobile phone usage began to increase, emergency service providers in the United States realized that many of the people who dialed 911 from wireless phones were unable to accurately describe their location ? resulting in a delayed response.

In response to this growing problem, the Federal Communications Commission issued the Enhanced 911, or E-911 mandate, requiring wireless carriers to implement technology that automatically locates wireless callers. TruePosition developed its wireless location solutions to help U.S. wireless carriers fulfill the mandate. Exceeding Phase II of the E-911 Mandate

Phase II of the E-911 mandate requires that network-based wireless location systems locate 67% of calls within 100 meters and 95% of calls within 300 meters. TruePosition?s Uplink Time Difference of Arrival (U-TDOA) wireless location technology has exceeded these requirements in extensive deployments conducted in varied environments and with multiple air interfaces. Today, TruePosition?s technology is being deployed nationwide in the Cingular Wireless and T-Mobile networks. TruePosition and the wireless operators are providing life-saving location information which is available to millions of users across the United States. In addition, the technology is being deployed by smaller rural carriers like Viaero Wireless and Iowa Wireless.

Currently we are looking for a Chief Scientist.
