CIRCUIT TESTER

 

Masergy Communications has an opening for a full-time Circuit Tester in our PLANO, TX headquarters.

 

Job Description:

 

The circuit testing position is responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and turning up all circuits on the Masergy network.  Included in this process is the testing of all circuits with the carrier from the equipment in Masergy?s hub to the demarc location of where the carrier terminates the circuit at the customer premise.  Additionally, a wire out test is required with the customer from the Masergy hub to the final demarcation point where the customer premise equipment will plug into.

 

Responsible For:

 Perform testing on all new circuits, to be installed in the Masergy network, with Masergy?s network providers around the worldIdentify, and troubleshoot, any issues that arise during the plant testing of these circuitsEffectively manage circuit testing issues to resolutionPerform wire out tests with customers to final demark location at the customer premiseCoordinate, and lead, weekly meetings with provisioning group to discuss upcoming circuits and identify any important issuesCommunicate acceptance of circuits to vendors and internal groups within Masergy

 

Requirements:

 

  Experience

 

?  4 year degree or equivalent work experience

?  Working knowledge of voice and data communication

?  Communications technician experience preferred

?  Minimum 3 years provisioning/testing experience

?  Experience with Network Carriers, LECs and alternative access providers

?  Expertise in basic telecommunications network concepts, signaling, and framing formats, T1.5, Frame Relay, local service, long distance, and Internet access

?  Basic knowledge of IP networks and how they work

?  Experience with Microsoft Office products as well as basic computer skills

?  Experience working in a team environment

 

Knowledge and Skills

 

?  Knowledge of command line interface

?  Knowledge of transport equipments (DACs)

?  Strong organizational and oral communication skills

?  Possess a professional attitude and work ethic in addition to being well organized and efficient

?  Ability to deal with unforeseen situations and come up with logical solutions to these problems without outside instruction

?  Self-motivated

?  Work effectively as part of a team

?  Heavy interaction with vendors and other groups within Masergy

?  Overtime work as required throughout the year

?  Willingness to work nights from home
