Communication Equipment Technician

Penelec a FirstEnergy Company, is seeking a Communications Equipment Technician for our Towanda, Pennsylvania location.

 

Position Description

The Communications Equipment Technician is accountable for all aspects of work for installation, maintenance, testing and configuration of Network Service?s communications electronics such as RTU's, fiber, telecommunications, microwave and radio transport systems. Responsibilities will include inspections, reports, and requisitions for materials, diagram preparation for applications of communication equipment which involve switches, relays, fuses and other accessory equipment in addition to specific work assigned by the Network Service Supervisor.

 

Position Qualifications

Qualified candidate must have a High School Diploma and a General Radiotelephone Operator License (PG or GROL); formerly titled 'Second Class Radio/Telephone Operator License of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Previous communications electronic experience, FCC or similar communications certification job knowledge and skills to work on Network Services communications electronics are required.
