Control System Design Engineer

SUMMARY: 


Reporting to the Chief AV Design Engineer, the Control System Programmer will be primarily responsible for supporting the sales engineering team with control system design, equipment configuration, quotes, and quote review/sign off.  The Control System Programmer will work with the Wire One Product Management team to ensure all design proposals are based on component infrastructure from the approved vendor and partner list.  The Control System Programmer will play an active role with Product Management in the maintenance of vendor relations to include, but not limited to: Crestron, AMX, and Extron.  The Control System Programmer will work with the Sales Engineering Team and the Project Management team to develop and enforce a training matrix and a basic skills mandate and ensure that all pre-sales support staff are properly skilled.  The Control System Programmer will work with the Chief AV Design Engineer to ensure standards for design including best practices; design evaluation recommendations and scope of work documentation are maintained and up to date.   The Control System Programmer will assist in the pre sales support process thru RFP response documentation, Customer Presentations, and the representation of customer requirements in the internal opportunity review process.  The Control System Programmer will be expected to work with sub-contractors to define programming and code maintenance standards.  The Control System Programmer will be reviewed quarterly on performance will be responsible for MBO requirements defined quarterly by the Chief AV Design Engineer and the Director of Sales Engineering.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Provide Control System sales support to Sales Engineering & Implementation Team.Perform technical design, equipment configuration, creation of graphical user interface templates, creation of source code (Project specific and Templates) creation of quotes, quote review/sign off.Prepares and performs detailed product evaluations where required.Customer interaction in pre and post sales of Wire One products.Define standards and templates to streamline programming and support process.Produce and maintain templates for standard Wire One Control Systems to achieve scalability and ease of replication within the design standard.Other duties as assigned.



QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

?  Bachelor?s degree preferred

?  Minimum 5 years experience designing audio-video conferencing control systems.

o Ability to create, analyze and explain control systems and programs

o Experience with design, implementation and configuration of video conferencing equipment and products

o Experience with documentation standards and creating network diagrams for complex AV Systems

o Interface with users, consultants, technical teams and manufacturers for maximum guidance in determining the most appropriate type of equipment

 

?  Understand audio and video integration and all of the necessary components.

?  Basic Experience in pre-sale/hands-on or equivalent with the following, H.320/H.323 gateways, Multipoint Control Units (MCU), Inverse Multiplexers (IMUX), CSU/DSU?s, modems, Windows Servers, CODEC?s, Switches network management devices, Multimedia/Data network, TCP/IP suite, Ethernet, ISDN, Frame Relay, xDSL, VPN and any other forms of Data, Voice and Video transports.

?  CTS or equivalent 5+years of experience in the audio video system design industry.

?  AMX - ACE level certification or Level 3 equivalent.

?  Crestron - CAIP level certification or Level 3 equivalent

?  Extron MediaLink training/experience

?  HTML experience

?  IP/Network addressing and Protocol experience
