Director, Corporate Tax - White Plains, NY

Position Summary:

The Tax Director?s role is to manage all functions of the corporate tax department and provide guidance for long term planning. The position is responsible for daily department operations including supervision of special projects, returns & filings, audits, review of work papers, provisions, G/L analysis and the work of the tax managers, staff and consulting positions.



Key Job Responsibilites:

?Review of sales/use, property, and income tax returns (Fed & State); ?Review of gross receipts, annual reports, licenses & other filings; ?Review of supporting workpapers and telecommunication filings; ?Training of managers and staff tax accountants; ?Supervising the handling of sales, property, telecom, income, and payroll tax audits; ?Supervise the maintenance and review of tax calendars; ?Written & oral communication with taxing authorities, consultants, upper management and other departments at all levels within the company, vendors & customers; ?Maintenance, training & updating of computerized tax programs; ?Preparation & review of journal entries, monthly tax provision, and account analysis. Including reports and closings; ?Special projects as assigned; ?Sign all check requests for tax department; ?Sign all tax returns filed; ?Tax research and planning; ?File maintenance; ?Updating of procedural manuals; ?Training of managers and two staff professionals and the department coordinator. ?Other miscellaneous tasks and responsibilities as may be required on an adhoc or ongoing basis.

Requirements:

?Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting required; ?Master's or JD preferred; ?Professional designation, CPA / EA / CMI preferred; ?Excellent writing and verbal skills; ?Experience and ability to supervise and train; ?7 ? 10 years corporate tax experience; ?Broad tax exposure preferred; ?Must have proven decision makiong skills in order to be able to make decisions with significant company impact on a regular basis; ?Knowledge of FastTax and Microsoft software.
