EMC SAN Storage Administrator

This senior level administrator is required to support national Storage Area Networks (SAN) and associated storage platforms based on EMC/Symantec/Veritas technologies in the open systems environment (primarily Sun Solaris and HP-UX). This person will work with a distributed team to perform best practices and procedures to maintain systems supporting wireless data networks and services across the nation. This individual will work closely with engineering, vendors, and internal customers to provide highly available storage services, and will employ technologies based on NetBackup, Virtual Tape Libraries, and standard tape libraries to ensure reliable data recovery. This individual will work closely with operations DBAs to configure storage platforms to support critical Oracle database instances, and BCVs. Other aspects of the job include scripting, configuring fault management, performance tuning and working with project teams to effectively contribute to key initiatives. Work will include on-call assignment and scheduled work during maintenance windows. Individual must be an effective communicator and be able to articulate well.


QUALIFICATIONS

Accomplished Systems Administration skills in Sun Solaris or HP-UX. 3-5 yrs experience working with storage platforms, including volume management, SAN, high end storage on HDS or EMC platforms. Requires 7 years of System Administration experience and Bachelor's Degree or equivalent. Demonstrated experience in an operations environment. EMC certification preferred.
