Small Engineering-Services Company for Location-Based Networks is looking for a Field Operations Engineer. This position will provide operations and maintenance support within an E911 Wireless Network in the Los Angeles Market. The Field Operations Engineer must have a significant understanding of E911 and hands-on experience with WLS/LMU, DSU, DSO, T1, GPS, LMR Interconnects and RF Cabling/Connections. He, or she, must be competent in the diagnosis and resolution of issues regarding; RF levels, Syncing, BCCH, PPS, T1, WLS Failure and Satellite Acquisition.

 

The Field Operations Engineer must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Project.

 

The Field Operations Engineer must be team oriented with a strong analytical approach to the troubleshooting process. He, or she, must be willing to work evenings and weekends on occasion and commit to leaving no job unfinished.



Duties and ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot E911 System Failures within the E911 Network in the LA Market.Coordinate the troubleshooting effort and test for resolution with in-house System Engineers.Provide technical support and ?guideline? parameters for the sustainment of the E911 system.Installation of new and replacement E911 equipment including, but not limited to, WLS, Combiner, DSU, Antennas, Coax/Connectors, and RF Cabling.Prepare and submit daily reports and photographs of all troubleshooting.

 

QualificationsAt least three (3) years experience in Wireless Systems, two (2) year minimum of significant experience with E911 installation and maintenance. AA Degree in Electronics/Communications requiredCrew leader experience.Anritsu and Andrew CertifiedExperienced in the use of Sunset XDSL and T-Berd equipment for Telco testing.Working knowledge of Ericsson and Nokia BTS equipment (GSM & TDMA) Experience in the troubleshooting and configuration of T1 Lines, DSU (Flex-master & Kentrox), DXU and DAC.Working knowledge of UMTS.An understanding of the TruePosition System is desirable.Committed to safety and team interaction.
