Primary Job Duties:

Installation and testing of DC power plants and batteries for various wireless providers (Nextel, Cingular, Verizon, etc.); cell site new build and reconfigure, testing and installation of batteries for UPS applications.  Work frequently requires heavy lifting (many batteries are over 100 pounds each) in addition to good knowledge of electricity and safety regulations.  Wireless and UPS projects can require extended overnight stays and frequent night or weekend work.  These are not laboratory clean environments and the work is frequently hard and physical. 

Applicant Requirements:

? Associate's degree or equivalent experience as a technician with 2 years industrial telecommunications power experience or a minimum of 5 years of industrial electronics experience. 

? Ability to work in a variety of working conditions requiring physical effort (lifting to 100 pounds). 

? Ability to understand moderately complex schematics, charts and engineering drawings. 

? Excellent verbal and written communication skills and customer relation skills

? U.S. Citizenship and a valid Illinois driver's license.

? Basic PC skills to include Microsoft Windows and Office. 

? Ability to work frequent nights and weekends with occasional overnight travel.

Job Objectives:Provide a high level of Quality of Service. Complete all reports in a timely manner. Perform preventive maintenance/territory management. Provide asset management/inventory control. Adhere to all published company safety standards. Perform other related duties as required. Service electrical (high-voltage environment) and electronic based products at the customer's site, performing emergency and preventive maintenance and installation. Meet defined performance requirements including quality of service, customer visits, preventive maintenance schedule, utilization, inventory management, and timely completion and upload of reports. Perform on-site or in-house repair and/or installation of company product(s). Provide technical support to customers on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment. Serve as customer contact on technical and service related problems.
