Field Technician - Telecommunications



Daycom Systems, a premier provider of practical and effective telecommunications solutions since 1992, is currently seeking a Field Technician for our office in Bentonville, AR.

Job Summary for Field Technician - Telecommunications:

The Field Technician will install, troubleshoot, and repair Daycom maintained and installed telecommunications systems based on policy, procedures, and timelines in a professional manner.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

1.  Installs, troubleshoots, repairs and maintains telecommunications systems.

2.  Provide system administration and coordination for the planning, deployment and support of telecommunications systems to include phone switches/PBX, NICE Recording, Voice Mail, Voice over IP, video conferencing, and IP telephony, as well as insure proper maintenance of management tools, system documentation, and disaster recovery procedures.

3.  Process work requests meeting deliverables as specified by Daycom.

4.  Assess customer requirements, where appropriate, and recommend appropriate solutions.

5.  Coordinates work tasks related to installations, maintenance and moves, adds and changes.

6.  Creates and maintain documentations related to installation, maintenance, moves, adds and changes.

7.  Escalates tasks to vendors and manage the process through successful completion. 

8.  Utilizes Daycom system tools and processes to track problem resolution, installations and changes from inception to completion.

9.  Interfaces with both internal and external personnel at all levels of the organization. 

10. Complies with company policies and procedures. 

11. Off-shifting and overtime work may be required.

12. Additional duties, as assigned by manager.

 

Qualifications for Software Specialist - Telecommunications Avaya:

1.  3+ years experience installing, maintaining and troubleshooting PSTN, PBX and voice mail systems.

2.  Programming and maintenance experience on Nortel Large systems a plus (DMS-100/SL100/CS 2100).

3. Avaya certifications, specifically in S8xxx, Definity, Audix, and Octel are preferred, experience may be substituted. 

4.  IP telephony and Voice over IP experience is a plus.

5.  Experience with multiple manufacturers is preferred (Nortel, Cisco, etc.)

6.  Networking and Call Center reporting experience is a plus (CMS, Genesys, etc.)

7.  The ability to multi-task and manage conflicting priorities.

8.  Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to be flexible in a dynamic team environment required.

9.  The ability to relate complex material in a less technical environment. 

10.  Good verbal and written communication skills.
