A leading provider of telecommunications solutions since 1998 is currently seeking a Field Technician for our office in Plano, TX.

Job Summary for Field Technician - Telecommunications:

The Field Technician will install, troubleshoot, and repair proprietary and third-party manufactured telecommunications systems based on procedures and timelines in a professional manner.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

?  Installs, troubleshoots, repairs and maintains telecommunications systems.

?  Provide system administration and coordination for the planning, deployment and support of telecommunications systems to include proprietary phone switches/PBX and recording, Voice Mail, Voice over IP, as well as insure proper maintenance of management tools, system documentation, and disaster recovery procedures.

?  Process work requests meeting deliverables.

?  Assess customer requirements, where appropriate, and recommend appropriate solutions.

?  Coordinates work tasks related to installations, maintenance and customer requests.

?  Creates and maintain documentations related to installation, maintenance, and disaster recovery plans.

?  Escalates issues to vendors and manage the process through successful completion.

?  Utilizes CTI system tools and processes to track problem resolution, installations and changes from inception to completion.

?  Interfaces with both internal and external personnel at all levels of the organization. 

?  Complies with company policies and procedures. 

?  Extensive travel, off-shifting and overtime work may be required.

 

Qualifications:

?  5+ years experience installing, maintaining and troubleshooting Telephony systems.

?  Computer network installation, including cabling and termination.

?  Light to Medium duty construction required including conduit, masonry drilling, equipment rack maintenance, etc.

?  Programming and maintenance experience on NEC (Electra and NEAX 2000) systems a plus.

?  IP telephony and Voice over IP (VOIP) experience is a plus.

?  Experience with multiple manufacturers is preferred (NEC, Cisco, etc.)

?  The ability to multi-task and manage conflicting priorities.

?  Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to be flexible in a dynamic team environment required.

?  Good verbal and written communication skills.
