Working as a Field Technician in our Chicago, Illinois office, you will play a major role in managing both the TNS and the customer global networks, proactively monitoring and responding to any alarms in an immediate and timely manner. Prior experience in a technical service role with a telecom company will enable you to hit the ground running, and TNS offers an ongoing training program to keep the talented and capable individual on the cutting edge of telecommunication technology. A working knowledge of AC/DC power and industry standard cabling terminations will provide the foundation to effectively install, monitor and maintain our equipment and circuits. Ours is an around-the-clock operation and your 24x7 availability in the face of emergencies, as well as your willingness to travel to other sites when necessary, will be essential. From managing the site to monitoring the power plant, all the way to installing copper, optical and coaxial cross connects between OC, DACS and Mux equipment, you will have absolute responsibility for everything in your given area.
