We serve most major market segments in the wireless space including wireless operators, equipment vendors, professional services providers, application providers, and chipset manufacturers. Our consultants are recognized for their comprehensive systems knowledge, a detailed understanding of standards, a detailed understanding of network equipment, hands-on experience in designing, managing and optimizing networks, and their ability to train and mentor the clients they work with. From a professional development standpoint, we offer our consultants training and assignments in related technologies such as UMTS, HSDPA, and WiMax. At this point, we are preparing for a significant amount of growth.

 

Position Description:

 

While we have a number of openings, our immediate need is for GSM/UMTS Core Network Engineers with significant expertise and 4-8 years experience in GSM/UMTS call processing, signaling and performance measurements. This person will be responsible for troubleshooting and optimization of live GSM/UMTS core networks.  

 

Please note that this is not an entry-level position.  A minimum of 4 years of experience is required. It is a contract position (6-12 months) that could turn into a regular full-time position. This job generally could be located in Richardson, Texas or Seattle, Washington.  It requires the flexibility to travel, though the expected travel is less than 40%. 

 

Compensation will be based on experience and expertise.

 

Position Requirements

 

Education:  Required: Bachelor?s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science from a well-known university Preferred: Masters in digital communications/telecom

 

Skills/Experience:

 

1) Required: 4-8 years of work experience in the GSM/UMTS core network space

 

2) Required: significant work experience in one of the following roles:Senior engineer/manager at a major wireless operator, and/or Core Network engineer/consultant at a major telecom network equipment vendor, and/or Senior/Principal Core Network engineer/consultant at a well-known telecom professional services firm

 

3)   Required: Ability to debug/perform critical analysis of GSM/UMTS call processing and network performance. Direct experience is required in at least 5 of the following areas:

?  BSSAP messaging

?  ISUP messaging

?  GSM MAP messaging

?  GSM call processing

?  GSM Call Processing Key Performance statistics

?  Performance Management of wireless networks

?  Mobile network Systems Engineering

?  GSM Software Development

?  GSM System Test/Field Support

?  UMA configuration and Call Processing

 

4)   Required: Experience in project management & customer interaction

 

5) Preferred: Good knowledge of standard tools / protocol analyzers for troubleshooting networks (e.g. GeoProbe, Access7, Compass, or equivalent)

 

6) Preferred: Knowledge of programming/scripting/query languages such as PERL, VB, SQL

 

7)   Required: Knowledge of standard office tools such as Excel, Word & PowerPoint

 

8) Required: Flexibility to travel as required though expected travel is less than 40%

 

9)  Required: Good oral and written communication skills and inter-personal skills

 

10)  Required: Authorization to work in the US
