GSM Software Architect

This software architect will be responsible for the design and architecture of a WCDMA terminal product line utilizing dual-mode GSM, specifically layers 2 & 3.  Provide technical direction to management and software engineers and programmers, serving as a product line architect and team leader as required.  Responsible for the development and verification of software architecture, system models, and product software.  Write requirements, design specifications, models, source code and test plans as needed.  Contribute to project schedules and the development of software processes.  Some travel between sites will be required.

 

Qualified candidates must have full product lifecycle experience to include:  inception, requirements, design, implementation, verification, customer product integration, and field support.  8+ years in the design and development of wireless terminal products (GSM/GPRS/EDGE, etc) including integration of wireless protocol software onto terminal systems.  WCDMA and dual-mode GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS handover experience preferred.  Strong in model-based engineering, design patterns, methods, COTS component integration (SDL & TTCN), including development of product-level software.  Proficient in C/C++, embedded environments, RTOS.  Must have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) as well as strong analytical and leadership skills.  BSEE or similar is required, MSEE or PhD strong preferred.
