IMS/UMTS Wireless Data Applications Lead Engineer

Lead engineer responsible engineering new wireless data applications including 3g Video Streaming, MediaNet Live Ticker and new IMS applications into production network and managing the ongoing growth of these applications.

Responsible for taking the detailed architecture from the CTO organization and developing the detailed end to end engineering plan addressing all aspects of the application design necessary to deploy, operate and grow these applications in the live network. Responsible for coordinating engineering with CTO, Vendor, IP/Messaging/GPRS core engineering, implementation and operations teams to meet planned launch deadlines.


QUALIFICATIONS

Potential applicants will have: a Degree in Telecommunication Engineering - Minimum 5 years relevant experience in telecommunications business - Solid understanding of cellular (GSM and UMTS) fundamental technology. Self motivated, professional, confident & innovative with a structured approach to problem solving.

Candidates must have significant experience in working within the Telco sector, including a detailed understanding of wireless data network and service architectures. Other technical skills include thorough understanding of WAP/HTTP, SIP, Streaming Protocols, IMS Architectures and UMTS core data networking architecture. Data network engineering experience desired: Ethernet, WLANs, VLAN implementation, IP routing, IP switching, firewall, QOS implementation, etc.
