Install/Test Technician

We have been awarded a Federal contract and we are looking for 2-3 people in Arizona (Phoenix base of operations) to perform installation, maintenance, test and turn-up of CPE equipment and analog/digital circuits. The following skill sets are required:

 Able to handle and operate various maintenance test equipment, such as, VOM, T-1 and DS3 test sets, Protocol analyzers, TIMS.Working knowledge of cable test sets.The ability to test, resolve and understand Access Providers concerns and issue.Have a very good working knowledge of and testing of DS-3s and T-1s including Fractional T-1s.Good working knowledge of Bell interfaces including T-1, DS-3, High Level Data Link Control (HDLC), Loop up and down codes and testing.Good working knowledge of testing of Telco loops including DS-0 (voice and data), DS-1, DS-3.Good working knowledge of installing equipment into existing racks or cabinets.Good working knowledge of cable connectors and replacement, such as, RJ-11, RJ-45, DB-25, V.35, RS-449.Have a working knowledge of fiber, and Multiplexers, Network topology techniques (DXCs Frame Relay, Fractional T-1 etc), SONET Network topology, Frame Relay, ATM, Private Line Be proficient in using a laptop to set configurations on equipment such as Cisco routers and other components of an IP network.Be familiar with IP networks and especially testing and replacing components on an IP network platform (cards, cables and etc.)Implementing software changes (Upload and Download) and installing new software and hardware into various devices such as PCs, Cisco or Sun servers.

 

We are looking for individuals to perform as Installation and Test technicians. These are travel positions. All travel will be within a 4-5 hour radius of Phoenix. When traveling it will be a 4 day work week (Monday through Thursday). You must be able to use your own vehicle and will be reimbursed at max Federal allowance. Lodging will be paid for directly by Verigent. You will also be paid a daily per diem for meals and incidental expenses. This per diem is determined by the job site location but will be the maximum allowed for that geographic area determined by Federal guidelines. This is normally between $35-50 per day.

 

These are long-term contracts that could last for at 2 years or longer. The pay rate will be $21.00 per hour. Demonstrated experience as a crew leader/lead installer with supervision and project responsibilities can lead to an hourly rate of $25.00 per hour.
