Job Responsibilities: Video and Telephone Installers are responsible for installing and certifying all video, telephone lines, and data lines in the customers homes. Additional responsiblilities include educating and interacting with the customer regaridng the products that may be available to them. This will also include troubleshooting and repairing any video, telephone and data lines. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Installation & certification of all customers premise video, telephone lines, and data lines, which will entail climbing polls, ladders, crawl spaces, and attics. The work will be completed indoors and outdoors and in all environmental conditions.
Responsible for connecting or installing a cable wire from exterior plant to customer equipment
Installation of basic cable line includes: maintaining aerial clearance codes, maintaining proper grounding procedures (adhere to National electric codes) drilling holes, securing cable with fasteners, installation of wall plates, and providing proper weather proofing.
Responsible for reconciliation of customer payments and equipment which will include cable box, modems, local power supply unit and network face Internet unit
After the product is installed the installer determines if picture quality meets FCC requirements and company specifications
Accurately completes all required daily paperwork and submits customer work orders with in required time frame determined by management
Ensures that customer's property is handled with care, which includes interior and exterior of the home
Responsible for upkeep and care of all company tools and equipment
Responsible for Safe operations, upkeep and maintenance of company issued vehicle, which includes overseeing tire pressure, oil fluid levels, and cleanliness of vehicle. Responsible for reporting any damages or repairs of the vehicle to upper management.
Adheres to company policies which include mulitdwelling unit safety manuals that is covered in the training classes for this position
Review city maps to route job orders in an efficient and timely manner
Attends all required technical, safety and team meetings
Other duties as assigned. Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance.
Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 1 year driving experience with a valid California Drivers License and satisfactory driving record
1-2 years of related experience and some basic knowledge of customer entertainment systems and customer electronics a plus.
Strong customer-interface skills
Ability to learn products quickly/upsell to customers
Good verbal and written communications skills
Knowledge of basic hand tools, which includes: drills, hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers and pliers
Ability to interact professionally with internal and external customers
Must be willing to travel through out the Bay Area region
This positions is required to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Proficient in the skills outlined in the company's Technical Service Model of Excellence competencies
Ability to work overtime, as needed.
This is a union represented position and part of a collective bargaining agreement.
