POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible to identify and correct cable service problems from the customer's TV set to the headend and for maintaining the system Network reliability.

MAJOR DUTIES: (May perform any or all of the following duties): Install or modify strand, cable, hardware and electronics for underground cable service using appropriate tools and equipment following established procedures; Locate and repair forward and return line problems; Correct return common path distortion & ingress problems; System maintenance (forward & reverse sweep, meter balance);
Power supply maintenance; Quarterly leakage patrolling and repair;
CLI patrolling; System splicing, activation; Outage repair - Must be able to accept on-call responsibilities; All duties/responsibilities of Installer/Service Tech and performs them as required;
Assist other technicians with problems that they are unable to correct themselves; Assist Chief Tech/Headend Engineer, ensuring that all work gets completed or gets scheduled for completion;
Assists with inspections and quality control tech of employees' work; Assist headend technician with installation and repair channels; Responsible for status monitoring system;
Fiber repair; Install or modify conduit, cable risers, hardware and electronics for underground cable service using appropriate tools and equipment following established procedures; Energize aerial and/or underground cable system following installation or repair; Transfer aerial cable system from old poles to new poles as required; Replace damaged aerial or underground service;
Dismantle and replace defective or damaged power supplies (aerial or underground); Sweep and balance trunk stations, run end of line testing for FCC requirements; Splice and maintain fiber cable and nodes; Report all accidents or property damage to supervisor and human resources immediately;
Comply with all safety rules and regulations; Maintain tools and equipment in clean and working condition as prescribed; Required to be On-Call; Ability to work with little or no supervision;
Overtime required to meet the business needs; Obtains assistance from Supervisor for complex inquires; Represents Comcast in a professional and positive manner in all situations;
Must be a Team Player working in a positive manner with all employees; Must be able to work a flexible schedule while maintaining a positive attitude; Performs other related duties as assigned.

Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance.

Qualifications
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE:
Minimum three to five years related work experience in service/maintenance; Related technical courses in NCTI and/or electronics; Experience with power meters, fiber identifiers, fusion splicers and fiber kits; Strong Problem Solving Skills; Good Written and Oral Communication skills; Ability to work flexible hours while maintaining a positive attitude; Excellent PC Skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Data Base Programs); Ability to manage multiple projects and assignments; Detail oriented and well organized; Must be a team player willing to accept additional assignments and assist other team members as required; Ability to maintain favorable relations with customers, vendors and fellow employees; Solid performer or better on last performance evaluance; Good Attendance.

Ability to work overtime, as needed.
