Manager, Telecommunications

POSITION SUMMARY: Currently we have an excellent career opportunity for a Manager, Telecommunications in the Telecommunications Department of Combined Insurance Company of America, a wholly owned subsidiary of Aon Corporation. This position will be located in the Uptown neighborhood of Chicago.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
? Manages/coordinates day-to-day planning, design, operations, maintenance and resource allocation for voice telecommunication group.
? Establish overall strategic and tactical direction for Voice Telecommunication Operations.
? Establish operational processes for telephone system management and reporting for both central operations and local office voice support.
? Participate in approval process for location site upgrades, installations or product
replacement within regions.
? Facilitate vendor management including the following:
1. Traffic studies
2. Availability / capacity planning
3. System maintenance reviews/trouble root- cause analysis
4. Carrier trouble management
? Responsible for all voice billing systems.
? Interfaces with Senior/Executive Management to coordinate telecommunication plans with overall business plan.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
? A minimum of 5-8 years experience in a largely diversified technical environment.
? Broad range of telecommunications knowledge and protocols
? Required telecommunications knowledge around PBX, switches, voice mail, and peripheral devices
? Deep knowledge of technical applications (Call Center) and services provided through technical support operations
? Understanding of allocations and cost recovery practices

REQUIRED EDUCATION: BA/BS or equivalent, Telecommunications and Infrastructure experience.
